Our Projects

Combined, we have over 50 years experience, gained on a variety of projects throughout the world. But no two engineering projects are alike.

Sometimes we manage a project from the very start and continue to be involved until the end reports. Other times we are brought in to provide specialist services in specific areas. Each brings different challenges. Each has different outcomes.

We would like to share just a few of these projects here.

3MW Gas Generator DSEAR (1671) Ignition Hazard Assessments (Non Electrical - EN 80079) (DSEAR)

Zennergy

13 Feb 2019 - 10 Apr 2019

QEM Solutions were asked to assist Aggreko  in the development of the type QSK-19 330kW Generator set with respect to completing a risk assessment to help demonstrate compliance with the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR).

QEM carried out a full review of the apparatus in accordance with IGEM/SR25 to assess the possible risk in accordance with  DSEAR. This included both desk based and on site validaion of the equipment and operations.

Following the DSEAR risk assessment various points were identified that, if incorporated into the 330kW QSK-19 generator design, will further reduce the risk of fire and/or explosion that is always a potential with hydrocarbon powered equipment.
