Paul Hammond
Pipeline Engineer
Paul joined QEM in September 2018 after working for 6 years with a main works contractor on varying projects, from large scale utility works for Crossrail and Thames Tideway Tunnels to large civils and mechanical works on a renewable energy power plant. It was while working on the power plant that Paul bumped into QEM in the form of Stuart Elliott, as they were both working on the construction team building the power station. It was a couple of years later that Stu approached Paul about working on the River Humber Gas Pipeline replacement project based on his experience working with Stu and working on gas projects. Paul currently works as a Pipeline Engineer ensuring high quality work is carried out and providing design co-ordination assistance to the Project Engineer.
Paul has an easy-going personality which has allowed him to develop trust and very good working relationships with clients and construction teams, ensuring the job gets done correctly and to a high engineering standard. Paul also has experience managing junior and graduate engineers, helping them in their development and he is always willing to help out other engineers with issues they may be dealing with.
In his free time Paul is an irregular golfer and annoys himself a few times a year trying to get a round in. He is also enjoys watching Formula 1 and has been to a couple of tracks to watch, as well as being a very unfortunate Newcastle United supporter.
