ISO 45001 Health & Safety Management

ISO 45001:2018 is the latest addition to the commonly recognised ISO Business Management System compliance standards.  Replacing OHSAS 18001:2007, the standard is designed to ensure safety of stakeholders as well as improving health and wellbeing of staff.

QEM Solutions have assisted numerous clients across varying sectors, (ranging from construction to bomb disposal and IT services), in reducing the risk to employees' health or safety.

We have also given our clients peace of mind by confirming that they are legally doing everything they can to protect their employees and stakeholders.

QEM have helped numerous organisations gain certification to ISO 45001:2018 and OHSAS 18001:2007.

So first things first, we always get our clients through certification with a UKAS accredited certification body. Why? Because without the UKAS tick, more often than not, your clients won't recognise it as a valid certification. If you want to know more, why not check out our partners' blog here.

We have a 100% success rate.

ISO 45001:20018 is a risk-based standard, so it focuses on the high risk areas of your business. ISO 45001 can help organisations create a framework that ensures they risk assess all of their activities, applying the correct proportion of mitigations.

Why not have a look at how ISO 45001:2018  has progressed from OHSAS 18001:2007 on our cloud-based management system partner's blog, here.

So how can we help?

Well, we have consultants that are commutable to most locations.

  • South  / Central Scotland.
  • North of England (Newcastle/Manchester)
  • Midlands (Birmingham)
  • South of England (London)
  • Wales

We can do as much or as little as you want. That makes sure that you are in charge of the budget and the actions.  If you don't have the resource time we can weave ourselves into your organisation.  If you do, we can watch and advise where required.

We have a cloud-based management system that reduces costs of implementation and makes it easier to actually run your business. http://www.iscompliant.com

The process will generally consist of the following steps:

  1. Carry out a gap analysis (to see how close you are to compliance - you may be surprised at how much you already have inplace!)
  2. Identify your key hazards and threats, and highlight any areas that require additional actions for legal compliance
  3. Set out opportunities for improvement
  4. Divide the actions between your own team and QEM
  5. Establish if our cloud-based software is suitable www.iscompliant.com
  6. Establish the scope. i.e. what do you want covered by your certification
  7. Develop documentation and processes
  8. Start implementing new processes where applicable
  9. Identify suitable certification bodies and go out to tender
  10. Confirm timescales for certification
  11. Gather at least 3 months' objective evidence
  12. Manage the certification process
